This position is a hybrid position where you will attend the office 2 or 3 days a week. This position is not and will not be fully remote.

The Position:

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President Market Conduct Policy and Regulation, the Senior Analyst Market Conduct Policy and Regulation, serves the life and health insurance industry's interests to optimize the policy, legislative and regulatory environment affecting the industry related to distribution and marketplace regulation issues. The Senior Analyst is a team player who works collaboratively both within and outside the Association. The issues worked on could include, among others, those related to insurance distribution and intermediaries, the fair treatment of consumers and life and health insurance products as well as investment products, such as segregated funds.

The position package includes:
  • Prescription, dental and paramedical benefits,
  • A defined contribution pension plan with employer matching.
  • We also offer a competitive compensation package including a salary of 65K to 75K and bonus. For exceptional candidates the salary may be increased
  • 3 weeks paid vacation
  • 10 Sick Days
  • Hybrid working from home model

Experience and Qualifications:
  • University degree in a related field with ideally two (2) to four (4) years of experience (e.g., economics, public policy, public administration, communications)
  • Knowledge of policy and legislative processes, particularly related to provincial, and territorial governments
  • Knowledge of life and health insurance industry products and practices related to distribution through intermediaries
  • Knowledge of industry distribution oversight and monitoring practices
  • Communication skills (verbal, written, digital), and the ability to effectively build relationships and work collaboratively with individuals within and outside the Association
  • Research, analytical, and problem-solving skills to understand issues affecting the life and health insurance industry
  • Organizational, project management and time management skills to manage multiple projects, including those with tight deadlines and changing priorities
  • Ability to develop options, and support evidence-based recommendations to CLHIA leadership for decision-making
