Parliamentary Commemorative Plaques

Bronze plaques displaying the names of over 5,000 Members of Parliament and Senators who have served in Parliament since Confederation greet the tens of thousands of visitors who pass through the Welcome Centre on Parliament Hill each year.

The Canadian life and health insurance industry was the very first financial sponsor of these commemorative plaques in 1996. For 23 years, CLHIA and its member companies raised funds to support this initiative by the Canadian Association of Former Parliamentarians.
